Prosecutor Mary Beth Kur - Charlevoix - Another Wink and a Nudge

While searching for information regarding the some of the players in The Good Old Boys Club here in Northern Michigan, I found this little tidbit of information that may explain why Kur supported Allen Telgenhof in his bid to become the next Charlevoix County Prosecuting Attorney, in spite of the police coming to his home on two occasions to investigate alleged domestic violence between the Telgenhof's. Read this shameful account for yourself at the link below.
It also may explain the discourse between Jarema and Kur and why they were so adamant about getting Jarema out of office, not matter the consequences to the citizens of Charlevoix County.

On May 10, 2004, Charlevoix Sheriff Deputy John Bush Jr. responded to a 911 call at the home of Charlevoix County Prosecutor Mary Beth Kur.

And then there is this news article regarding Kur and Judge May, who by all accounts was a fair judge.

Kur says local judge biased

She wants him removed from her cases

PETOSKEY - Former Charlevoix County prosecutor Mary Beth Kur, now a local defense attorney, is seeking to have 90th District Judge Richard May disqualified from hearing her cases, claiming he is biased against her.
"Judge May's dislike is so great, and it has been made so public, that it has effectively prevented (me) from practicing in Judge May's court," Kur said in a motion in a drunken-driving case she handled before May in Emmet County. May also serves as district judge in Charlevoix County.
Two circuit judges, the new Charlevoix prosecutor and Emmet prosecutor have since been pulled into the dispute.
In her motion, Kur gave multiple reasons to disqualify May from her cases, including what she called a "defamatory memo" in March urging Charlevoix commissioners not to appoint Kur to the county's roster of court-appointed attorneys.
In that letter, May cited "past and current litigation" involving the county and Kur, and further stated "I am not comfortable that decisions (by Kur) are going to be made solely upon what is in the best interest of clients."
Kur also pointed to disparaging comments May reportedly made about her to Charlevoix County Circuit Judge Richard Pajtas. Pajtas testified at an earlier hearing that the comments prompted him to ask May if he planned to disqualify himself from hearing Kur's cases.

  1. You must've missed this in your ongoing look for corruption and "good ole boys" scratching each other's back - to the tune of $200,000

Jarema continues to cost our county hundreds of thousands and you/Jarema are chasing a story from eight years ago.

You have lots to say about other people's personal lives, please give full disclosure on your own:

  2. We are posting older articles to make a point. When a citizen is brought before the court all of their prior bad acts are held against them. It isn't fun having someone picking your life to pieces, which is what happens to victims of our justice system every day.
