What it means to be patriotic

Since America is in a patriotic mood this week, I felt it appropriate to post the following article about our country and what it means to be patriotic. The author is Paul Craig Roberts and this is paragraph from the article linked below.

About Dr. Paul Craig Roberts
Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy and associate editor of the Wall Street Journal. He was columnist for Business Week, Scripps Howard News Service, and Creators Syndicate. He has had many university appointments. His internet columns have attracted a worldwide following. His latest book, The Failure of Laissez Faire Capitalism and Economic Dissolution of the West is now available.
"American patriots, who feel that they should be on “their” government’s side regardless of the facts, would do well to remember what true patriotism is. For Americans, patriotism has always meant allegiance to the Constitution, not to the government. The oath is to defend the Constitution against enemies domestic and foreign. The Bush and Obama regimes have proven themselves to be the Constitution’s worst enemies. It is not possible for a true patriot to support a government that destroys the Constitution. The United States is the Constitution. Our country is not the Obama regime, the Bush regime, or some other administration. Our country is the Constitution. The Constitution is our country."

The purpose of this blog is to inform the reader about the loss of our freedoms and to inform them that the government is not our friend. It is unfortunate that as the average American lifestyle is rapidly declining, with millions on food stamps - very few even understand how it happened because they can't or won't do any research for themselves and see what is really going on. They turn on the t.v. for their "programming." and regurgitate exactly what has been pounded into their brains by the news loop.
We are being impoverished and enslaved by the ruling elite of the world and we are all in this together. We need to pray for our country and our planet that is being plundered, poisoned and destroyed by greedy people that will never feel that they have enough.

I feel sorry for them. Being evil takes more than it gives and they have a black hole where their heart and soul is supposed to be that sucks the life out of all they touch. Remember King Midas.
