- A seventh man was attacked by a shark off the coast of North Carolina in less than three weeks
- The man, 68, was bitten several times while in waist deep water at a beach on Ocracoke Island
- The man suffered wounds to his ribcage, lower leg, hip and both hands and was treated on the beach before being airlifted to a nearby hospital
- One shark expert said humans are 'flooding out' sharks in their own home
- Larger numbers of bait fish and sea turtles have also been coming closer to shore and attracting more sharks
- Victims of recent attacks have included two teenagers who lost arms and an eight-year-old boy who received severe leg injuries
