David had been placed in a monitored cell, after he was erroneously put on self-harm watch. That’s because jail officials believed he was mentally ill, rather than going through drug withdraw.
Local WDIV reported on this case, with medical experts weighing in. They explain that David was using Methadone, Xanax, and Klonopin to treat his addiction and slowly overcome heroin use.
