It is imperative for the well being of Charlevoix County that the citizens support a candidate for prosecuting attorney (or any other elected position) who will not violate the public trust. More than ever, we need to electcandidates who possess good moral character, integrity and honesty.
On May 21, 2011, Telgenhof’s wife called 911 to report domestic violence on Allen Telgenhof.
His wife’s handwritten statement to the police:
“I was sitting on the livingroom couch and Al came in the living room accusing me of texting an old boyfriend on another telephone. He tackled me on the couch and held me down preventing me from getting my cell phone. He was reaching in my shirt and down in the couch trying to find a cell phone. I tried many, many times to get up and to scream, but Allen kept shoving his hand over my mouth to prevent me from screaming for help. I could not breath. When he would take his hand off my mouth, I would again scream and he put it back on again. He also bit me at least three times. I told him I wanted my phone to call 911 and he prevented me from doing that. He told me he knew the law and that as long as I wasn’t in the process of making a cell call that he would not be in trouble for not letting me have my phone to call 911. I tried to get the phone by kicking it toward me with my foot, but was unable. Many times I was unable to breath. He told me no one would help me. He finally let me up, but would not give me my cell phone to make a 911call. I finally used the house phone.” From the FOIA Request
The true image of the current Charlevoix County prosecutor (Allen Telgenhof) lurks in the shadows. The mask that he puts on publicly belies his nature.
Allegations against Telgenhof include, but are not limited to, are as follows:
1) Domestic Violence against his wife - allegations include wife beating and biting ( SEE THE PRETTY LIE OR UGLY TRUTH BLOG for details that include the 911 call from his wife, photographs of injuries and the police report)
2) Interference with a 911 call and smothering his victim while she attempted to yell for help (a felony)
3) Abuse of the county credit card (SEE THE PRETTY LIE OR UGLY TRUTH BLOG for details)
4) Check bouncing and allegations of theft filed against him by a former landlord
We have seen the malicious and selective prosecution tactics that he has used against the citizens of Charlevoix County. These same citizens have been accused of the very crimes that have been alleged against the prosecutor, only he was never prosecuted. We have also witnessed his intimidation tactics on a local radio call in talk show.
It is the hope of The Pretty Lie or The Ugly Truth that this bulletin will motivate this prosecutor and anyone else in positions of public trust to see the error of their ways and seek God's forgiveness, as well as the forgiveness of those in the community who have been violated. Together we can make Charlevoix beautiful again.

The Prosecutor
Back in 2011 the Prosecutor got himself into a bit of trouble. The details are important because the way he was treated by law enforcement and the court varies widely with the way Joe off the street would be treated.

Covert Taping - Ben was made to write a healthy script and a deviant script. These he read aloud into a tape recorder. When he became aroused, he had to break open an ammonia capsule and inhale deeply. Staff members listened to these tapes to make sure that he choked. That meant that he was doing it properly. Ben suffered horrible nosebleeds for months after he came home.
Plethysmographs - This is a test where the older boys were taken out of the facility. A ring with sensors is placed over the boys penis and they are shown sexually graphic material. Ben was too young to do this, but went out of the facility with two other boys and a staff member to act as chaperone.
This was necessary because a staff member named Mr. Ari was accused by a gay black boy of engaging in oral and anal sex with him in the bathroom of the facility where they do the plethysmographs.
This happened before Ben got to Havenwyck, yet Ben met Mr. Ari. That was because he was still working on the unit. He was transferred to another unit and eventually let go, but as far as Ben knows this was never investigated by the state."

State reports from DHS showing clear violations of patient rights at Havenwyck Hospital. Why is this place getting hard earned tax dollars? There is another report I can't locate about a supervisor slamming a girl face down on the floor and breaking her nose. Supervisor then tried to get other staff to lie about the incident.
Havvenwyck staff gave a girl who was a cutter a razor and she slashed her arms, requiring stitches.

GAYLORD - It began with a mystery that has never been solved and a question that has never been satisfactorily answered.
On a winter morning in 1986, the frozen body of 31-year-old oilfield worker Jerry Tobias was discovered in the back of his pickup truck on a quiet Gaylord street. There was blood on his body, and it appeared his hands had been bound with a pair of jumper cables. At an autopsy performed the next day, the Otsego County medical examiner decided Tobias had been struck in the head by a blunt instrument of some kind.
The police wasted no time in pursuing the incident. Before the week was out, they raided a butcher shop owned by Waters resident Laurie Moore and seized a metal skewer used for roasting chicken, which the medical examiner identified as the probable murder weapon. Moore was arrested in what the authorities began calling "a drug deal gone wrong."
But instead of solving the mystery of Jerry Tobias' death, the arrest of Laurie Moore was only the beginning of a 17-year ordeal that deepened the confusion.
Since 1986, the Tobias case has absorbed millions of taxpayer dollars. Suspects were arrested, prosecuted and jailed, only to be freed when the evidence against them turned out to have been fabricated. Police and prosecutors have been accused of serious violations of ethics. And the case itself remains a convoluted web of official misconduct, perjury and outright craziness. At the center of that web is the strange and enigmatic figure of Debra Parmentier, also known as Debra Herrick or Brieanna Herrick, the witness whose testimony eventually sent four men to prison for the Tobias murder, and who disappeared into the Utah desert in 1995 after confessing that it had all been an elaborate lie. Parmentier was arrested in January by federal agents near Salt Lake City before being brought back to Gaylord earlier this month to face perjury charges.
If it can be believed, her testimony may finally answer some of the most troubling questions about the behavior of police and prosecutors who allegedly encouraged her perjury, intimidated other witnesses and withheld or destroyed evidence that contradicted her story.
But it may never answer the central question: Who, if anyone, killed Jerry Tobias?
Police were certain they knew the answer to that question in 1986. They had long suspected the existence of a drug ring that was using the Gaylord area as a central distribution point for large amounts of cocaine and other illegal drugs, and they were certain Moore had killed Tobias during a drug-related disagreement. Those suspicions seemed confirmed when laboratory tests showed a large amount of cocaine in Tobias' body.
Second-degree murder charges were filed against Moore by Otsego County Prosecutor Norman Hayes, who had known Moore from high school. In fact, Moore had married Hayes' former girlfriend, a fact that was later stressed by defense attorneys in the case.

On a bitterly cold afternoon in December 1986, a Michigan State trooper found the frozen body of Jerry Tobias in the bed of his pickup truck. The 31-year-old oil field worker and small-time drug dealer was curled up on his side on the truck’s bare metal, pressed against the tailgate, clad only in jeans, a checkered shirt, and cowboy boots. Inside the cab of the truck was a fresh package of expensive steaks from a local butcher shop—the first lead in a case that would be quickly lost in a thicket of bungled forensics, shady prosecution, and a psychopathic star witness out for revenge.
NOTHING HAS CHANGED. TELGENHOF IS BEING PROTECTED BY MICHIGAN ATTORNEY GENERAL BILL SCHUTTE AND HIS UNDERLINGS. TELGENHOF APPEARS TO BE A TEFLON DON AND IS NEVER HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS BEHAVIOR. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT SOMEONE RUNS AGAINST HIM IN THE 2016 ELECTION AND RESTORE INTEGRITY TO OUR COURTS AND PUBLIC OFFICES.

FACTS: - Telgenhof does not file paper work in violation of election law.
- Citizen sends in Complaint to Schuette’s Office
- Schuette’s Criminal Division Chief Richard Cunningham calls Telgenhof to tell him about the investigation and to file his paperwork.
- Telgenhof admits to newspaper and County Board that he did not file his paperwork.
- Telgenhof files his paperwork under penalty of perjury claiming that all of his campaign finance reports are filed.
- Telgenhof is then investigated by the Elections Bureau and fined $1,500 for not having filed required reports.
- A second request for investigation is sent to Schuette in July of 2014
- Cunningham again denies this request.
- Schuette asks Telgenhof for his “support” in his re-election of 2014.
- Schuette puts out a media release in October 2014 showing Telgenhof’s name as a “supporter” of Schuette.
