Washington, D.C. – Under President Obama, the U.S. has been receiving 70,000 refugees per year. They are selected by the United Nations, screened by the FBI, and resettled into more than 190 cities and towns across America. President Obama plans to bring in 85,000 refugees next year; including 10,000 from ISIS controlled territory in Syria.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said during a news conference Sunday, “In consultation with Congress, we will continue to explore ways to increase those figures while maintaining robust security. The need is enormous, but we are determined to answer the call.”
FBI counter-terrorism expert Michael Steinbach told Congress recently it has no reliable way of vetting the Syrian refugees and FBI Director James Comey has said its hands are full with active ISIS investigations in all 50 states. Regardless of FBI findings, cities chosen for immediate refugee relocation include: Bowling Green, Kentucky, New Bern, North Carolina, and Menominee, Michigan.
