Man files suit after spending 17 years in prison for crime he didn't commit

A 40-year-old Kalkaska man is filing a lawsuit after spending 17 years behind bars for a crime he didn't commit.
Jamie Peterson has filed a suit against the County of Kalkaska, Village of Kalkaska and several law enforcement officers and the prosecutor involved.
Back in August of 2014, a judge threw out the conviction of Jamie Peterson, who was found guilty of raping and killing 68-year-old Geraldine Montgomery in Kalkaska County in 1996.
