The Day Ferguson Cops Were Caught in a Bloody Lie

The officers got the wrong man, but charged him anyway—with getting his blood on their uniforms. How the Ferguson PD ran the town where Michael Brown was gunned down.

Police in Ferguson, Missouri, once charged a man with destruction of property for bleeding on their uniforms while four of them allegedly beat him.

“On and/or about the 20th day of Sept. 20, 2009 at or near 222 S. Florissant within the corporate limits of Ferguson, Missouri, the above named defendant did then and there unlawfully commit the offense of ‘property damage’ to wit did transfer blood to the uniform,” reads the charge sheet.

The address is the headquarters of the Ferguson Police Department, where a 52-year-old welder named Henry Davis was taken in the predawn hours on that date. He had been arrested for an outstanding warrant that proved to actually be for another man of the same surname, but a different middle name and Social Security number.

“I said, ‘I told you guys it wasn’t me,’” Davis later testified.

He recalled the booking officer saying, “We have a problem.”

The booking officer had no other reason to hold Davis, who ended up in Ferguson only because he missed the exit for St. Charles and then pulled off the highway because the rain was so heavy he could not see to drive. The cop who had pulled up behind him must have run his license plate and assumed he was that other Henry Davis. Davis said the cop approached his vehicle, grabbed his cellphone from his hand, cuffed him and placed him in the back seat of the patrol car, without a word of explanation.

But the booking officer was not ready just to let Davis go, and proceeded to escort him to a one-man cell that already had a man in it asleep on the lone bunk. Davis says that he asked the officer if he could at least have one of the sleeping mats that were stacked nearby.

”He said I wasn’t getting one,” Davis said.

Grabbing the national headlines at the moment is the story of the murder of 18 year old and unarmed Michael Brown by an unidentified member of the Ferguson Police.  Local citizens have accused the police of ongoing racial profiling and extreme police brutality.

After the murder of Brown, local protesters have taken to the streets and began to riot and loot. Yes, this had to be stopped. However, someone needs to explain why the Washington Post’s Wesley Lowery and the Huffington Post’s Ryan Reilly were arrested Wednesday evening, August 13th, while working on their respective stories in a McDonalds restaurant.

Someone also needs to explain when peaceful demonstrators take to the streets, the local police respond by using laser scopes to target protesters who are peacefully gathering. Officers have also responded to the protests with MRAPS, AR 15 assault rifles, full body armor, the use of rubber bullets and tear gas on nonviolent demonstrators. Ferguson, Missouri looks more like Afghanistan than the streets of America.

Coda to a Killing: No Justice for Derek Hale

The practice of police "accountability" generally consists of using money stolen at gunpoint to buy off victims and survivors of officially sanctioned criminal violence.

Few better examples can be found than the $975,000 settlement paid by the City of Wilmington, Delaware, to Elaine Hale, whose husband Derek was murdered by Wilmington Police on November 6, 2006.

The settlement brings to an end a federal lawsuit that was scheduled for trial next July – more than four years after Derek, a Marine veteran who served two tours in Iraq, was shot three times at point-blank range after being tasered seven times within the space of about a minute. Unarmed and cooperative, Derek was not a criminal suspect and had done nothing to justify arrest, let alone summary execution.

Pay-offs of this kind are part of a ritual of self-exculpation in which the police and the local criminal clique they serve loudly proclaim their complete innocence, even as their cynical actions offer eloquent testimony of their guilt. William S. Montgomery, one of the palace eunuchs who serve Wilmington Mayor James M. Baker, performed his role perfectly.

"We were very confident in our case and know that our officers acted properly and professionally," lied Montgomery in announcing the settlement, which – as he went on to say – meant that the supposedly rock-solid case would be spared "the inherent risk of a jury trial."

Fortunately, Montgomery pointed out, the risk of a trial was "eliminated for less than the cost of defense."

Through the miracle of socialized municipal risk management, nobody will face accountability for the extra-judicial killing of a 25-year-old husband and father of two stepchildren who had celebrated his first wedding anniversary just days before he was murdered.

Shortly after receiving a medical discharge from the Marine Corps, Derek joined an "outlaw motorcycle club" called the Pagans. In November 2006, Derek and some friends from the club made a run from Virginia to Wilmington as part of a Toys for Tots promotion. Derek didn't know that for more than a year before he joined the club the Pagans were the subject of a Delaware State Police investigation.

Derek was house-sitting for a friend on the day he was murdered. Sandra Lopez, the soon-to-be ex-wife of Derek's friend, arrived with an 11-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter early in the afternoon to remove some personal belongings. Derek – wearing a hooded sweatshirt – was sitting quietly on the front porch of the home when an unmarked police car and a blacked-out SUV arrived at around 4:00 PM and disgorged a thugscrum of 8–14 heavily armed police. According to eyewitnesses, the officers were dressed in black, and displayed no police insignia of any kind.

At the time, Lopez and her children were standing behind Derek on the small porch, which was at the top of a short stairway. The armed strangers ordered the woman and her kids to move away from Derek, who by this time had risen to his feet. One of the cops ordered Derek to remove his hands from his sweatshirt. No more than a second or two later, according to eyewitnesses, he was hit with the first of what would be seven Taser strikes.

The Taser blast knocked Derek sideways and sent him into convulsions. His right hand involuntarily shot out of its pocket, clenching spasmodically. Ordered to put his hands up, Derek struggled to comply, but found himself paralyzed. So he was struck with a second Taser blast that drove him to the side and induced him to vomit in a nearby flower bed.

"Not in front of the kids," Derek pleaded. "Get the kids out of here."

The mainstream media is chock full of news articles attempting to mitigate the murder of Kelly Thomas, a 140-pound malnourished mentally ill man who ran from police. Before it was over six officers were on the scene and the 140 pound man ended up brain-dead looking looked like this before his grieving father had him disconnected from life support.

What was Kelly Thomas’s crime to be beat so savagely by police you ask? An officer thought he might have broke into a car. There were no witnesses to any crime, Kelly Thomas was merely a suspect. When the officer told him to halt, Kelly Thomas engaged in the capital offense of “Fleeing Law Enforcement”.

So, as six two-hundred pound law enforcement agents arrived at the scene, Kelly Thomas was placed face down after being tasered five times and was beat with flashlights until unconscious. After that the officers kept yelling, “Don’t resist. Stop resisting.” as they repeatedly dropped their weight on the back of the unconscious man’s head smashing his face into the pavement over and over again.

Kelly Thomas was described as a peaceful person despite his mental illness. He had never been charged with a violent crime. He was a loving person by all accounts.  His family photos showed he was greatly loved by his family.

National Report: In a continuation of the ongoing police scandals rocking the New York City Police Department, three-month old infant Layla Smith has been pronounced dead following an August sixth incident. This closely follows the July seventeenth death of NYC resident Eric Garner after the use of a prohibited choke hold by officers against him. Garners death was ruled a homicide by the NYC medical examiners office.

Suzanne Smith, Layla’s mother, had been sitting on a bench in Queens waiting for the bus when Layla began to insistently cry. Knowing that her baby was hungry Ms. Smith began to breastfeed her daughter. Witnesses at the scene report that she was then approached by a NYPD Officer, later identified as Michael Fitzsimmons, who requested that she stop feeding the baby in public as it was “indecent”. Ms. Smith refused to comply with the directive and told Officer Fitzsimmons that she wasn’t doing anything illegal. Officer Fitzsimmons again insisted that she stop and threatened to arrest her for indecent exposure. Ms. Smith calmly responded to the Officer that he could not arrest her because breastfeeding in public wasn’t against the law.

Seeing that toddler trussed up and in pain confirmed something he’d long suspected but now had to acknowledge. The man in the video was one of those guys they sometimes talked about on the news. Though Adam didn’t want to hurt anyone, he knew that, on some level, he was just like him. He was 16 years old, he was a pedophile, and he had to do something about it.

Bill O’Reilly Attempts to Bash Cop Block, Makes A Fool out of Himself Instead

Establishment mouthpiece Bill O’Reilly ran a short segment attacking Cop Block on his show this week. He referred to the activists as “clowns” and disapproved of the idea of filming police. For anybody that pretends to be part of the news apparatus to openly discourage the ability to film public officials and even hint that it should be illegal shows viewers that the “cable news show” is anything but news. No self-respecting journalist or even a tabloid hack would ever condone an encroachment on the First Amendment.

Bill described the organization’s activities by saying they are “spying on the police.”

Perhaps Bill has missed the list of articles detailing how local police departments are, in fact, spying on Americans, or maybe it just doesn’t fit into his narrow worldview so he just overlooks it. Recording public interactions is not spying by any definition.  If anything, it’s journalism; albeit a bastardized and guerilla form of it. Journalism is that subject Bill studied at Boston College. It’s been a while, so maybe he just forgot what it was.

Bill took the opportunity to show a clip of an Arlington Police Department representative saying

“officers are actually being followed. A lot of times the officers don’t have any idea who’s following them.”

He echoes the complaint by Dallas Police Association President Ron Pinkton when he said

“We don’t know who it is pulling behind us. We don’t know they’re there to videotape, they might be part of… if that guy has has just done a kidnapping they could be part of the kidnapping. You don’t know.”

As was previously pointed out, if an officer is unable to tell the difference between a camera and firearm, perhaps that officer should seek out a different line of work before they kill an unarmed birdwatcher. It’s either that or the department needs to step up its training program.

Megyn Kelly of the Kelly File, smiled and chuckled as she mocked the appearance of one of the activists and stated that an officer could be

“riding down the road, trying do your job, and suddenly it’s like Paul Bunyon is after me!”

The ever-present echo for ideas supporting a police state, Bill O’Reilly, chimed in by stating

“Yeah, there’s somebody with a camera in your face.”

Of course, the more likely scenario is that you’re rushing home after you’ve found out your house has been broken into and a cop sticks a gun, not a camera, in your face. The video below shows that exact scenario. Before Bill responds by saying that the cops have their own video and this case proves it, he should note that, as usual, the equipment malfunctions just as the officer begins taunting the teenager about sticking a pistol in her face. So, no, the American people can’t just trust the police to police themselves.

A Ukrainian news station reported the following:

“The new Ukrainian regime in Kiev, which has not been democratically chosen, performed the transport of the country’s gold reserves in early March.”

At night, the reserves were flown to the USA. The gold was hastily loaded from trucks onto a plane. The trucks had no registration plates, and the men who performed the loading were dressed in black and were armed! The plane with the valuable cargo then took off from the northern runway.

The Ukraine’s gold reserves weigh in at 42.3 tonnes, and are worth 1.3 billion Euros. A leading figure of the former ministry of finance has confirmed that this transport actually took place. It all sounds very much like a crime, since the men performing the loading had to be armed, the trucks were not allowed to be recognized and the plane took off from the northern runway.

One wonders who the people in the new regime in Kiev are, and do the Ukrainian citizens really want a government that simply gives away national assets?

I believe that if the gold had been transported to the Russian capital, Moscow, there would have been a huge uproar from the mass media.

This might help explain why casual encounters between dogs and cops frequently end with the dog being shot and left to die.

On October 7, Cherrie Shelton of Albany, Georgia saw Patches, her two-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, gunned down by a probation officer named Antoine Jones on her front porch. Shelton began to explain that the tiny dog – who posed no conceivable threat to anybody – didn’t bite. By that time, however, Jones had already pulled out his gun and taken aim. He fired a single round that entered the dog’s left side, exiting through its stomach.

Shelton spent a half-hour desperately trying to save her dog. When she angrily demanded to know why Jones – who had visited the home before – shot the harmless dog, the 300-pound emissary of the tax-fattened class insisted that the 12-pound Jack Russell Terrier made him “fear for his life.” The Georgia Department of Corrections later issued a statement saying that its valiant officer had “acted appropriately” by slaughtering a dog that posed no threat.

In 2006, two Israeli military operations claimed the lives of 143 children; in 2008 and 2009, two more assaults killed 385; in 2012, yet another led to 33 more deaths. A total of 561 children killed in six years, according to evidence collected by Defense for Children International Palestine. After surviving five attacks, Ahmad did not survive the most recent one: He died in an airstrike that killed 25 members of his family, 18 of whom were children.

CARBONDALE, CO — A nurse says she begged for her life after being taken hostage by an unidentified gunman during a shift at a Colorado nursing home.  Unbeknownst to her, the armed intruder was actually a cop in disguise, masquerading as a bad guy in a “routine” safety drill.
The incident occurred on October 16th, 2013, at the Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale, Colorado.  Nurse Michelle Meeker was working a day shift and attending to her patients.  Around 1:00 p.m., she was diverted from her work and asked to check out a “suspicious” man sitting in a waiting room.
When Ms. Meeker approached the man, she asked him if he was there to see someone at the facility or if he needed help.  According to her account, after asking twice, “the man gruffly responded with words to the effect of, ‘follow me, I’ll show you.’”
The stranger then took her down the hall to an empty room and exposed a handgun tucked in his waistband.  He ordered Ms. Meeker to get in the empty room.
“Terrified, Ms. Meeker shook her head and said ‘No,’ afraid that if she went through that doorway she would not make it out alive,” her lawsuit states.
The armed man demanded she comply three times, and finally placed his hand on his gun and physically ushered her into the room.
Ms. Meeker began to cry and shake with terror. “In a desperate plea for her life, she begged the man not to hurt her, telling him she had a young child,” her lawsuit alleged.
Her captor then told her “in a hushed tone” that he was a Carbondale Police Officer and that “this is a drill.”
Ms. Meeker had no way of knowing if his explanation was true, and continued to fear for her life, she claimed.  She proceeded to comply quietly under duress.
The intruder then told her that she had to help him “capture” her co-workers.  The lawsuit states that two additional staff members — a CNA named Zach and a RN named Erica — were coerced to follow orders at gunpoint during the nearly 40-minute ordeal.
At one point, Erica called 9-1-1 to request help from police, but they never arrived.  It was later revealed that 9-1-1 emergency operators were instructed to disregard any calls that might have been received from the nursing home during the drill — adding to the terror of those being held hostage.

Watership Down, and the Seven People You’ll Meet After the Collapse

On the surface, Watership Down doesn’t appear to have anything the survival community would be interested in. Told from the perspective of several rabbits that are trying to find a new home, the cartoon is filled with silly characters, and a lot of the same themes you would see in any kids movie. If you get around to watching it though, you’ll see it is a gut wrenching story of survival in a savage world that most modern viewers can’t believe is rated PG.

Based on the novel by Richard Adams, the author wrote the rabbit characters as surrogates for humans and our behaviors. The rabbits have their own social structures, culture, language, religion, and even a mythology that attempts to explain why they are near the bottom of the food chain. Just like any good science fiction or fantasy story, by changing the setting so drastically, the author can tell a very human story about modern society, without the viewers being clouded by their own ideologies and cultural norms.

You may still be wondering what this film has to do with preparedness. With a movie about rabbits living in vastly different circumstances than us, there really aren’t any survival tips to be gleaned from the story, but bear with me. The movie is about these rabbits escaping the destruction of their warren (rabbit colony), setting out into a world filled with traps, predators, and conditions that they have very little control over.
