Did the Vietnamese really call him ‘Songbird McCain’ because he’d give them so much information?
He was a Vietnam POW, but he’s been the subject of quite a few damning articles by other vets. Check out the link I’ve provided below. He famously voted against a bill that was otherwise unanimously passed that would have fostered transparency in the records of what happened over there – and possibly brought a lot of other POWs home – because apparently those records would have confirmed this story.
