199 Americans Kidnapped In Mexico This Year, Still Two Weeks Left Until New Years

Organized crime is big business in Mexico. It’s an international business enterprise that the perpetrators bring to our soil on a daily basis. The lawlessness of the outlaw nation to our south isn’t just restricted to their massive invasion of our country or to the cross-border and domestic criminal activities of their cartels trafficking in drugs, humans and guns. Kidnapping has also become an epidemic and many Americans and their families have found themselves victims of the act itself and the subsequent extortionist ransom demands.
To date the number of Americans kidnapped in Mexico is at 199 for the year. With two weeks left until the end of 2014, that number will is almost certain to exceed 200.
A high percentage of the kidnappings, 79, took place in the Mexican State of Tamaulipas alone, just south of the U.S. Border.
FBI Special Agent Michelle Lee met with Breitbart Texas and provided statistics as to the severity of the problem. She noted how thing have become drastically worse since 2006, when the kidnappings totaled 26. The numbers this year represent an almost eight-fold increase in the annual rate since that time.
