An Arizona judge decided to release the body cam footage from when Mesa, Arizona Police Officer Philip “Mitch”Brailsford shot and killed Daniel Shaver. However, the video was redacted and did not include the moments of the actual shooting.
Brailsford was one of six officers on the scene at the La Quinta Inn located in Mesa on the night of the shooting. Daniel had a job in pest control, which took him and his pellet guns around the country. After having some drinks, Daniel made friends on the elevator with a couple staying in the same hotel.
The couple came to Daniel’s hotel room for a shot of Bacardi. While there, they began checking out Daniel’s pellet guns. Someone was said to have pointed one of the pellet guns out of the window to look at the scope. While not the brightest move, it was not anything worthy of death.
