A BOY has been missing for 36 years.
A man has confessed to his brutal murder. It sounds like an
open-and-shut case but a jury can’t reach a verdict.
Etan Patz
went missing in 1979 at age six. The bright-faced boy with the bowl
cut, blue eyes and beaming smile vanished while walking to school for
the first time.
Etan left his parents’ Manhattan townhouse on May
25 that year and was reported missing when he failed to return home. His
body has never been found.
The case hit home for parents across
the country and became an ongoing national story. His face was plastered
on milk cartons and power poles and the front pages of newspapers.
Interest faded until Pedro Hernandez confessed to killing the boy in
2012.
