President Obama’s plan to resettle tens of thousands mostly
Muslim refugees from the Middle East is creating a “lethal, toxic
cocktail” in Arizona, Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., said Wednesday.
Arizona has accepted 27,900 refugees during the past decade. That
number will no doubt increase significantly moving forward. Gosar, who
appeared Wednesday on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” suggested that people
from war-torn Syria are likely to create a culture conflict in his home
state.
“Disproportionately, this administration says that those refugees
coming in will be 97 percent Islamic, 3 percent Christian,” he said.
“Over 70 percent will be young men, and not families. This
administration has been building a lethal, toxic cocktail in Arizona.”
Gosar, who has endorsed Florida Rep. Daniel Webster in his long-shot
race for Speaker of the House of Representatives over establishment
favorite Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said federal authorities have no
effective way to screen applicants.
