Responding to a question about the recent acquittal of former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak, Psaki said that:
“Generally, we continue to believe that upholding impartial standards of accountability will advance the political consensus on which Egypt’s long-term stability and economic growth depends, but beyond that I would refer you to the Egyptian government.”
It was obvious that she was reading from a prepared script, because she was staring down at a sheet of paper and tripping over her words.
