MASON CO. -- An investigation is underway to see if there is a connection between the Boston "Baby Doe" case and the Mason County "Baby Kate" case.
Detectives in Mason County are working with detectives in Boston based on similarities of 'Baby Kate' and the 'Baby Doe'.
It is early in the investigation, so little information is known at this time.
Baby Kate has been missing since June 2011. She was 4-months-old at the time. The murder charges against Sean Phillips, Baby Kate's father, were dismissed last fall. The judge's seven-page decision said the prosecution hadn’t proved that the murder had taken place. But, this winter, the Sean Phillips murder case has reopened.
